FOLLOWING FATHERS' FOOTSTEPS
For many re-enactors, re-enactments are not only about showing their passion and love of history but also about sensing their ancestors’ feelings who fought in the Civil War. Deborah Martin said she somehow feels a part of her in the war. Martin, who coordinated the event, re-enacted as a private “Augie,” a nickname of her great grandfather who is a Civil War veteran. “More and more I do this as hobby,” she said, “More I wish I could’ve actually been there.”
１０月初めに３日間だけ行われる戦争。従軍する兵士たちは各々に家族を思い銃を取った。南北戦争の再演劇に参加した「兵士」たちの物語。兵士たちは歴史に対する情熱だけではなく実際に従軍した先祖たちの想いを感じるために参加した。
